Electric Swan

Konstantina Kotzamani
A large-scale (for a 40-minute film) phantasmagoria centred on a building in Buenos Aires that moves of its own accord, and several of its inhabitants. A Greek director who made the film in Argentina, Konstantina Kotzamani confidently inserts trivial scenes into a world that exists according to her own rules. This Dadaist story about an unexpected relationship between man and inanimate objects has enough potential to justify an entire series.

Konstantina Kotzamani is a graduate of the Film Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her short films have premiered at major festivals such as Cannes, the Berlinale, Venice and Locarno and have received numerous international awards. Her latest short film, Electric Swan, had its world premiere in an Out of Competition Special Screening at the Venice International Film Festival, has won many awards at several international festivals and was declared Best Short Film by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics. Her first feature film is in development.
