In the Month of Love / Magh ke mahine mein

Shashank Walia
In an old apartment building, wedding celebrations are about to come to an end. Musicians are getting ready to go home. Spring is the time of love, which this old house has seen a few stories of. Shashank Walia's film, which weaves together multiple strands but has almost no plot, is inspired by Indian miniature paintings. Instead of events, it holds ephemeral emotions at its core: lazy daydreaming, lovesickness and elusive memory.

Shashank Walia is a cinematography alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India and holds a postgraduate degree from the Jamia Millia Islamia university. He was recently commissioned for an essay film titled Somewhere Nowhere by India’s Public Service Broadcasting Trust, which was officially selected for the 12th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala in the short documentary section.
